Ghostwriting and Collaborative Projects
Illegitimate: How a Loving God Rescued a Son of Polygamy by Brian Mackert with Susan Martins Miller (Cook 2008). Worked from author draft, independent research and author interviews to create the first memoir by a man leaving the fundamentalist polygamous Mormon group formerly led by Warren Jeffs and in the headlines in 2008.

It’s Never Too Late to Change the World: Living in the Ripple Effect that Jesus Began by Charles E. Blair (unpublished at this time). Interviewed author and individuals recommended by author; reviewed and incorporated reports from Ethiopia. Structured manuscript according to author’s goals and wrote independently to tell the story of phenomenal church growth in the most remote, poorest region of Ethiopia.

LifeShapes is a series of discipleship books based on the discipleship teaching of Rev. Mike Breen. His approach features eight common shapes, each one a reminder of a discipleship fundamental. Two books were published by Cook Communications. The others are available as downloads from www3dministries.com, “the global home for an organic movement of biblical discipleship and missional church.”

A Passionate Life by Mike Breen and Walt Kallestad (Cook 2005) flagship book for the series; worked from author draft and created 20 percent new material.

The Circle: Choosing to Learn from Life by Mike Breen (Cook 2005); reworked author draft.

The Semi-Circle: Living in the Rhythm of Life by Mike Breen (2005); reworked author draft.

The Triangle: Balancing the Relationships of Life by Mike Breen (2005); worked from author outline and speaking transcripts to generate manuscript.

The Octagon: Living Life with a Mission by Mike Breen (2006); worked from author outline and speaking transcripts to generate manuscript.

If God Loves Me, Why Can’t I Get My Locker Open by Lorraine Peterson (Bethany House, 2006); reviewed Peterson’s body of devotional books to condense and combine selections to create a book of 365 daily readings for teens.

Appleseeds: A Mentoring Program for Preteen Girls by Betty Huizenga (Cook 2002). This began as an editing assignment and turned into a complete rewrite, making theological sections appropriate for the age group and generating original materials for group activities and crafts to supplement teaching material.

Hearts, Brains & Growing Pains: Terrific Teaching that Changes You and Your Kids by Lois Keffer, Dean Stone and the Godprints Team (Cook, 2000); structured the book, wrote or rewrote large portions of it to make a cohesive presentation.
